Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Do contact lenses hurt?
A. No - soft lenses are extremely comfortable straight away. After the first few hours they are usually unnoticeable. Gas Permeable lenses initially feel slightly less comfortable in the eyes and do take 2-3 weeks to achieve full comfort.
Q. How often will I need new ones?
A. Your personal prescription will certainly not change more rapidly wearing contact lenses. Lenses do deteriorate, however, and any potential problems are definitely reduced with frequent replacement of the lenses. We recommend at least monthly replacement lenses wherever possible.
Q. I have an astigmatism, can I still wear contact lenses?
A. Yes there are various options available to you to correct your astigmatism with contact lenses. Our Optometrist or Contact Lens opticians will be able to advise you on the most suitable solution for your eyes.
Q. I wear bifocals, are contact lenses suitable for me?
A. Yes - you can either have a pair of distance contact lenses and a pair of glasses for reading or we can supply you with bifocal contact lenses, and don't worry, you do not have to worry about putting them in the right way up!
Q. How much do contact lenses cost?
A. Contact Lenses are priced from £9.95 per month for a 3 monthly lens package.
