Dollond & Aitchison has won an employer of the year award

D&A received recognition at this year's learner First Awards for our commitment to training its employees. D&A is the only optical retailer to offer all its optical advisors NVQ training in optical retailing, which is accredited by City and Guilds.

Andy Ferguson, chief executive, said "We are delighted with the award. Our optical advisors are committed to working hard to attain their optical retailing qualifications so this is a reward for them and a promise to our customers that they will continue to receive intelligient and personalised service."

Sponsored by City and Guilds, and presented by BBC One's Fame Academy judge David Grant, the award ceremony was held at the Botanical Gardens in Birmingham.
