Vision Aid Overseas – Desalegn from Ethiopia
Desalegn is an 11 year old from the town of Gorgora in North Western Ethiopia. He is blind in one eye due to an accident and he had always struggled to make friends due to his poor vision in his other eye.
He queued for hours to be seen by a VAO volunteer, who found he had a prescription of -2.50. He was delighted when he was duly provided with a suitable pair of spectacles and he could not help but smile as he looked around the clinic and realised he could see properly for the first time in his life.
